Dear reader,
Welcome to my website. My name is Óskar Vélez Carrasco. I am an English speaking Nederlandstalige architect born in the Basque Country in 1974, had my university studies at the ETSAUN-Universidad de Navarra, (1992-1999).
Having been given the opportunity to work in Porto (Portugal) or Barcelona (Spain), I chose for the last, where I worked for well-known firms (OAB, BiG Arquitectes) and was involved in the construction of large structures so as hospitals, golf courts, office buildings, etc.
Regardless the experience acquired then, being an employee of my bosses, I was missing the most rewarding part of this discipline of Architecture, the eye-to-eye contact with customers. I could never had such privilege working behind others.
I always thought it the best part of my profession to talk and share thoughts with those people who where to be making use of the architect´s creation, which led my to leave my position and create my own firma, as an architect, but above all, as the CRAFTSMAN I consider myself to be.
My goal: Face the challenge, build projects hand in hand with clients, sharing good and bad moments together.
What makes me proud: That close relationship I build with my clients (they call me directly on my number, I speak English to them, en moet het nodig zijn, Nederlands kan ook ;-)) which provides my projects with that tailored, specifically-made-for-the-client feature all of them show.
A feature all my clients specifically treasure and seek. Same as the architect they chose for.
